Right-of-Way (ROW)


This is an annual class that is held every fall.  Right-of-way Pest Control involves managing vegetation and pests along roads, railways, power lines, and pipelines to ensure safety, visibility, and infrastructure integrity. Key methods include selective/non-selective herbicides, mechanical mowing, and integrated pest management (IPM) to control weeds that damage structures or create fire hazards. 


This class will be covering the following topics:

  • Integrated Pest Management (IPM) for Right‑of‑Way
  • Herbicide Use in Right‑of‑Way Management
  • Application Techniques
  • Equipment Used in Right‑of‑Way Applications
  • Environmental Considerations
  • Public Safety and Risk Management



Meet our Instructor


Drawing on over 30 years of industry knowledge, Mike Reed provides an experienced approach to course material. His background is diverse, including significant sales experience with Synatek and his current role as Vice President of the NJ Turfgrass Association. Recognizing that the information can be monotonous, Mike employs a unique instructional style that integrates lighthearted comedy into his presentations, successfully keeping students active, engaged, and thoroughly entertained.

Our Online Classes are Considered In-Person by the NJDEP. Earn 100% of Offered Credits by attending. NO 25% limit.

Requirements for ONLINE Classes

  • Government issued photo ID is required and will be verified prior to and immediately after the class.
  • Attendees must be visible throughout the entire session (with live video on) and must stay to the end.
  • Quizzes will be randomly scheduled, & attendance will be visually monitored by a moderator.
  • In order to be marked "Present" for this class, every Attendee MUST log-in to the online Class from their own device (PC, or MAC) and use their own unique email address. Absolutely No Sharing of devices or log-in.
  • Call-ins (audio only) are not allowed; you need a computer with *live* video capability.
  • Sorry No SMARTPHONES or TABLETS Permitted for this class.
  • You MUST Pay at the time of Registration. No Checks or Cash for Online Classes
  • Sorry, No refunds. However, we will allow substitutions of another attendee, with 48 hours notice.
